Growth plan for Odele, 6 Oct 2026

Scale spend. Hold CAC.

Odele sells full-size products at $11.99 and minis at $4.99, with free shipping at $50. The plan is one number: hold CAC at $5.76 while ten creators and a steady flow of new ads find which products carry a first order.

01 The number

Hold CAC at $5.76 while Odele's $11.99 products scale

The one number to protect is target CAC: $5.76. It is the guard line at 0.6 of a $9.60 ceiling, built from a $12 average order, 40% margin and one repeat order. Those three inputs are my guesses until week one. Odele's free shipping at $50 and 10% off a first order both move it.

Protect

Target CAC: $5.76 on a first purchase

Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $12 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $9.60. Guard line = 0.6 × $9.60 = $5.76. Across the ranges: $2.62 to $66.15.

Three moves

  1. Kill losing ads early, so spend only follows hooks that clear $5.76.
  2. Steer first orders toward the $50 free shipping line and the free Clarifying Shampoo Mini at $40+.
  3. Report daily CAC, so a drift above the $9.60 ceiling gets caught within a day.

02 Variety

Curl, scent and scalp ads each need their own proof

Each ad concept has to carry one Odele product, one reason to buy and one hook. Curl Defining Gel, Hair + Body Mist and the Rejuvenating Scalp Serum each need different proof, so I will not recycle one script across them. One variable changes per test; the rest stays fixed.

Each row is a reason to buy that the brand already has proof for. The count is how many of the ads carry it: a reason with a single ad is a bet, not a pattern, and the next batch of concepts moves toward the reasons that win.

03 Disturbances

Seven risks, starting with the $8 shipping charge under $50

Risks with likelihood, impact, owner and gate
DisturbanceLikelihoodImpactOwnerGate (proposed)
Odele's $8 flat shipping charge under $50 hurts first-order conversionMedHighYour teamCold-traffic checkout conversion holds while CAC stays under $9.60; otherwise rewrite the shipping message.
Hair + Body Mist at $16.99 sells on scent, which video struggles to showMedMedMeMist ads must beat the $5.76 guard line within the first two tests, or scent angles pause.
Scalp and frizz ad lines drift beyond Odele's own study wordingLowHighBothEvery ad line matches the claims sheet before launch; one unmatched line blocks the ad.
Event tracking is incomplete, so CAC cannot be read cleanlyMedHighYour teamDaily CAC reconciles with store orders before any budget rises past week two.
Creators miss the pace of two new ones a weekMedMedMeCreators live match the ramp, ten by week six; otherwise spend holds at the current week.
Hit rate is a guess; fewer winners than the volume table assumesMedHighMeIf no winner clears $5.76 by the second gate, I cut concepts and rebrief instead of adding spend.
Repeat orders fall short of the one the ceiling needsHighHighBothCohort payback after repeat orders stays positive at $5.76; a negative cohort stops spend.

Scores are my read from outside the company, re-scored in week one with your data. Each risk has one owner and one gate that can be checked with a number, so nobody has to argue about whether it happened.

04 The ceiling

The $9.60 ceiling is a guess; week one replaces it

Unit economics lines
LineValueStatus
Average order$12 (range $4.99–$49.00)Assumption Range from the site product prices (Published); the midpoint is a guess
Gross margin40% (range 35–45%)Assumption Replace in week one
Repeat orders after the first1 (range 0.5–2)Assumption Replace with cohort data in week one
Margin per customer, all orders$9.60Calculated Average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders)
Guard line for CAC$5.76Calculated 0.6 × the margin per customer

The math, with the assumed lines

Ceiling = average order × margin × (1 + repeat orders): $12 × 40% × (1 + 1) = $9.60. Guard line = 0.6 × $9.60 = $5.76. Across the ranges: $2.62 to $66.15.

Range across the assumptions: $3 to $66.

The $9.60 ceiling and $5.76 guard line are arithmetic on guesses: $12 order, 40% margin, one repeat order. Odele's real order data in week one replaces all three.

The ceiling is a range, not one number: the most a new customer can cost before shipping and packaging, which I do not have. Replace the guessed lines with yours and every figure below recalculates.

05 Test ramp

Six weeks of tests, $24,000, one variable per ad

Test ramp by week
WeekNew ads × budget / ad (proposed)Weekly test spendCumulativeCreators postingCAC target (proposed)
112 × $250$3,000$3,0000$6
212 × $250$3,000$6,0002$6
312–20 × $250$4,000$10,0004$6
412–20 × $250$4,000$14,0006$6
520 × $250$5,000$19,0008$6
620 × $250$5,000$24,00010$6

Weeks one and two run twelve ads at $250 each, $3,000 a week. Weeks three and four go to twelve to twenty ads, $4,000. Weeks five and six hold twenty ads, $5,000. Total $24,000 of tests, released only as creators go live.

Cumulative test spend, week by week (proposed): $24,000 by week 6
  1. $3,000Wk 1
  2. $6,000Wk 2
  3. $10,000Wk 3
  4. $14,000Wk 4
  5. $19,000Wk 5
  6. $24,000Wk 6

The math. Week 1: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 2: 12 × $250 = $3,000; Week 3: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 4: 16 × $250 = $4,000; Week 5: 20 × $250 = $5,000; Week 6: 20 × $250 = $5,000. Total $24,000 (96 ads × $250). A range such as 12–20 counts as its midpoint.

Weeks one and two test what the brand already has, rewritten per reason to buy. From week three, creator videos enter paid only after they beat their own account median. A range of new ads counts as its midpoint in the spend column.

06 Volume

Sixty concepts beat twenty: more winners, same CAC guard line

Twenty concepts give two winners, sixty give six. More concepts means more shots at a hook that clears $5.76, so spend scales without CAC drifting. Hit rate and spend per winner are my guesses.

Concepts, hit rate and added spend
Concepts tested / monthHit rate (assumed)New winners / monthSpend each winner holds (assumed)Added spend at target CAC
2010%2$300 / day$18,000 / month
4010%4$300 / day$36,000 / month
6010%6$300 / day$54,000 / month
8010%8$300 / day$72,000 / month

The math. 20 concepts × 10% = 2 winners × $300 × 30 days = $18,000 a month; 40 concepts × 10% = 4 winners × $300 × 30 days = $36,000 a month; 60 concepts × 10% = 6 winners × $300 × 30 days = $54,000 a month; 80 concepts × 10% = 8 winners × $300 × 30 days = $72,000 a month.

The hit rate and the spend each winner holds are placeholders. The first thirty days of tests replace them with real numbers, and the table is recalculated the same day.

07 Allocation

Percentages of the $100,000 budget; the table prints the dollar amounts. Winners get fed first, and scaling money stays locked until a concept clears $5.76.

The math. 25% × $100,000 = $25,000; 55% × $100,000 = $55,000; 12% × $100,000 = $12,000; 8% × $100,000 = $8,000. Sum 100% = $100,000.

This split is a proposal. It moves toward scaling as winners prove out, and toward testing when fatigue shows.

08 Channels

Meta first, then channels that reuse the winning hooks

Channels and opening conditions
ChannelOpen when (proposed)Why wait
MetaWeek one, with the first twelve ads livePaid social is where creator videos get tested fastest against the $5.76 CAC line.
TikTokWhen a creator video wins on Meta and holds CACCurl and scent routines suit short video; the winners just move over.
Google searchWhen Meta winners show repeat ordersProduct-name search, like Hair + Body Mist, captures demand the ads create.
Email and SMSWhen first-order tracking is cleanThe 10% off a first order is a ready first email, so repeat orders can be measured.
YouTubeAfter ten creators are live and one winner holdsLonger hair routines for the Curl Defining line suit a longer format.

A channel opens when its condition is true, not when the calendar says so. Until then the budget stays where the CAC is earned.

09 Payback

At $5 CAC the order pays back; at $10 it does not

Payback is the real constraint. At $5 CAC an order pays back after repeat orders with $4.60 left. At $10, $15 and $20 it never does: stop, leaving −$0.40, −$5.40 and −$10.40. So Odele's repeat orders matter as much as any hook.

Margin left per customer, order by order (assumed midpoint, before CAC)
  1. $4.80Order 1
  2. $9.60Order 2

Cumulative margin per customer, order by order, before CAC: $4.80, $9.60.

CAC scenarios and payback
CAC (scenario)First-order marginYear-one marginLeft after CACPayback
$5$4.80$9.60$4.60After repeat orders
$10$4.80$9.60−$0.40Never: stop
$15$4.80$9.60−$5.40Never: stop
$20$4.80$9.60−$10.40Never: stop

The math. CAC $5: $9.60 − $5 = $4.60 left; pays back: After repeat orders; CAC $10: $9.60 − $10 = −$0.40 left; pays back: Never: stop; CAC $15: $9.60 − $15 = −$5.40 left; pays back: Never: stop; CAC $20: $9.60 − $20 = −$10.40 left; pays back: Never: stop.

Read each row left to right: the margin of the first purchase, the margin over the whole horizon, what is left after CAC, and the purchase on which the CAC is earned back. A scenario that never pays back is a stop, not a test.

10 Scope

Scope: ads, creators and reporting, not Odele's tracking build

Covers

  • Creative direction and ad testing on Meta for Odele's curl, scent and scalp lines
  • Creator briefs, roster pacing and pay proposals
  • Landing page briefs tied to each winning hook
  • Daily CAC, weekly learnings, monthly cohort payback

Doesn’t

  • Building event tracking: I spec it, your team implements it
  • Product, pricing and the shipping policy
  • Claims sign-off: Odele decides what can be said
  • Anything inside your ad account I haven't been given access to

What this plan covers is what I can change inside the ad account and the creator program. Everything outside it is named on the right so nobody assumes it is handled.

Gates, written before spend, so stopping isn’t a negotiation.

Gates at days 14, 30, 60, 90
DayKeep going if (proposed)Stop or change if
Day 14Two tests read, tracking reconciles with orders, and at least one hook trends toward $5.76 CACTracking can't match orders, or every concept sits above $9.60
Day 30Creators live match the ramp and a winner holds CAC at or under $5.76 on repeat spendNo winner under $9.60 after the test spend so far
Day 60Blended CAC stays at or under $5.76 as spend rises, with cohort payback positiveBlended CAC above $9.60 for a full week, or payback turns negative
Day 90Scaling spend holds $5.76 CAC and new winners replace tired ads on a steady cadenceWinners fatigue faster than new ones arrive and CAC sits above $9.60

Each gate is checked on its day with the numbers in the daily and weekly reports. If the stop condition is true, the spend stops and nothing renews until we talk.
