Category ruleNo promises about hair loss or scalp conditionsHair care sits close to health talk. Creators describe texture, shine, hold and scent only.
Goal$1 per 1,000 viewsOn my inputs it is $5.74 now. Hitting $1 needs 4.2% viral videos or 21,711 median views.

Why this works

Former COO of Tabs. I built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it. The numbers below come from videos that program produced.

At Tabs I built the creator program and the paid ad engine next to it. This is that playbook pointed at hair care: one variable per test, a hook library, losers killed early. I have not run this category, so Odele's claims sheet and the lead's calls on the formulas come before any filming.

Why Odele now

  • 139 reviews

One product page already has proof

A product page shows 4.323741 / 5 from 139 reviews. Creators have a real number to point at, and I would not invent a better one.

    Published
  • 140 reviews

A second page with the same depth

Another page shows 4.3714285 / 5 from 140 reviews. Two deep pages mean creator videos can send people to products that already persuade.

    Published
  • 6 reviews

A thin page is an opening

One page shows 3.5 / 5 from 6 reviews. Creator videos on that product would add the voices the page is missing.

    Published
  • $40+

A free Mini gives the video a call to action

Free Clarifying Shampoo Mini with $40+ orders is a concrete line a creator can end on, next to free shipping at $50.

    Published

Part 4 of 15

How I run it

  1. One variable per test

Each batch changes one thing: hook, format or product. At 303 creator videos a month with 10 creators, results come fast and losers are killed early.

  2. Hook library over big ideas

Every hook is logged against its views. The five formats start with Leave-in Conditioner, Curl Defining Gel, Moisture Mask, Clarifying Shampoo and Hair Oil Mini.

  3. One number to protect

Cost per 1,000 views, target $1. Pay stays inside the bands and inside the $15,000 ceiling for all 10 creators at the top cap, bonuses excluded.

  4. One shared channel, same-day answers

Briefs, claim questions and drafts live in one workspace with Odele's lead. A claim question is answered before filming, not after posting.

Part 4 of 15, continued

One channel for everything

#briefs

Briefs, drafts, reviews and the weekly numbers

Illustrative
  1. MartaMon 8:30 AM

Brief for this week: Curl Defining Gel, wash day to finished curls. Show the tube, say the $11.99 price once, and quote only lines from the claims sheet.

  2. AvaMon 11:10 AM

Can I say the Moisture Mask works on color-treated hair?

Not yet. Stay with "For a deep moisture infusion that resets you to your best". If you want more, I will ask Odele.

  3. TrackerAppFri 9:00 AM

Weekly report is ready: videos posted, views, cost per 1,000 views against the $1 target, top hooks and videos killed.

  4. MartaTue 4:15 PM

Draft sent back: the opening line promises hair-loss results. Swap it for the Cream Pomade's flexible hold and natural finish, then re-record the first seconds.

  5. TrackerAppSat 10:05 AM

A video passed 100,000 views: Priya's Leave-in Conditioner wash-day cut. Organic views only, so the $50 flat bonus is logged for this month.

  6. MartaThu 2:00 PM

Check before Friday: every video this week uses a line from the claims sheet and none mention hair loss or scalp conditions. Reply done when yours is checked.

The messages illustrate the working channel, with invented people: briefs go out on Monday, claims questions get an answer the same day, and nothing posts without the check.

Part 5 of 15

Five formats

  1. Wash-day leave-in

    Brief 01

    Wash-day leave-in

“Wash day, one leave-in, zero guessing. Let me show you.”

Bathroom mirror, damp hair. Show the Leave-in Conditioner pump, apply it, finish with the dry result in daylight.

  2. Curl gel test

    Brief 02

    Curl gel test

“Crunch-free hold? I'm putting the Curl Defining Gel to the test.”

Split screen: curls before the gel, curls after drying. One take, no filters, tube visible in the first seconds.

  3. Mask in water

    Brief 03

    Mask in water

“Mask test: two tubes, one wash day, my honest take.”

Close-up of the Moisture Mask tubes, then the mask going on in the shower. End on hair texture, not on a claim.

  4. Clarifying suds

    Brief 04

    Clarifying suds

“Mini shampoos for $4.99: here's what I'd pack first.”

Hand holding the Clarifying Shampoo in the lather, then a quick pan over the Mini line on a shelf or in a bag.

  5. Mini oil on hand

    Brief 05

    Mini oil on hand

“Hair Oil Mini for $6.99. I'm trying it on camera.”

Slow pour of the Hair Oil Mini over the hand, then three seconds of the shine on dry hair. Say the price once.

Every product line in a video comes off the claims sheet word for word, for example “For deep moisture, detangling + frizz control”, “Flexible hold + natural finish”, “for added shine, crunch-free hold + frizz control”. Product names are said as printed.

Part 6 of 15

Recruiting

Four sources in

  • Reviewers who write about their hair

Customers whose product reviews already describe their routine. Odele's own review pages are the first place to look for people who talk about hair unprompted.

  • Shop by Need audiences

Creators who already post about thickening, volumizing, smoothing, curl defining, moisture repair, ultra sensitive or color protecting hair and scalp care.

  • Short-video wash-day search

Cold search on wash-day, curl routine and purple-shampoo videos. Look for steady posting, readable comments and hair that matches a product on the shelf.

  • Affiliate or ambassador page

An affiliate or ambassador page was not found on the site. Odele has a Rewards link, but I did not read it, so I won't assume it covers creators.

Five filters, fewer each step

  1. 1Hair type match

Their hair fits a Shop by Need group: thickening, volumizing, smoothing, curls or moisture.

  2. 2Real wash-day footage

Recent videos show a whole routine, not a single hero shot.

  3. 3Clean claims history

No past posts promising hair growth or scalp fixes.

  4. 4Comfortable with price talk

They can say $11.99 or the $4.99 Mini price without sounding scripted.

  5. 5Fast in the channel

They answer the same day and send drafts before posting.

Part 7 of 15

Who fits

  • Curl wash-day creator

Films the whole routine for curls, from wash to defined finish, and shows the dry result.

    Likely product: Curl Defining Set

  • Fine-hair volume fan

Shows root lift and body from wash to blow dry, with no filters on the hair.

    Likely product: Volumizing Shampoo

  • Blonde and silver tones

Documents toning day and what she uses between salon visits.

    Likely product: Purple Shampoo

  • Sensitive-scalp sharer

Shares what is in her shower for a sensitive scalp. Describes the routine only, never gives medical advice.

    Likely product: Ultra Sensitive Set

  • Travel and gym-bag packer

Packs hair and body products for trips and workouts, and films the bag.

Likely product: Going Places Travel Bag

  • Fragrance-first reviewer

Reviews scents out loud: sugar-cookie, sauna, citrus and cucumber.

Likely product: Hair + Body Mist

Left off, every time

Always left out: anyone who sells hair-loss or scalp-condition promises, creators who cannot show their own hair, accounts with bought followers, and anyone unwilling to use the claims sheet. Category rule: no medical talk about hair or scalp, ever.

Part 8 of 15

Part 9 of 15

Claims sheet

Approved, word for word

Quoted exactly as the brand publishes it.

  • “For deep moisture, detangling + frizz control”

    Leave-in Conditioner wash-day videos

  • “Flexible hold + natural finish”

    Cream Pomade videos

  • “For a deep moisture infusion that resets you to your best”

    Moisture Mask videos

  • “for added shine, crunch-free hold + frizz control”

    Curl Defining Gel videos

  • “Effortlessly sleek from edges to ends.”

    Slick-back and sleek-style videos

  • “Smooth, shape and set your style with formulas made to keep every strand right where you want it.”

    Styling videos that show hold

Never said

Each one with the reason it stays out.

  • Never say it stops hair loss

A health outcome that no Odele wording makes.

  • Never say it fixes a scalp condition

A medical promise. Creators describe the routine, not a result.

  • Never say it makes hair grow faster

A health outcome about growth, not covered by any Odele wording.

  • Never say it beats another brand

A comparison. Odele's pages make none.

  • Never say the study results apply to every product

A study figure stretched past the regimen and panel it came from.

  • Never say the heat protection works at any temperature

A limit removed. The product wording stops at 450°F.

  • Never say every Odele product is 100% natural

An ingredient claim. The page gives that wording only for the signature scent.

To confirm with the brand

Held until someone on the brand side signs off.

  • 86% said their scalp felt moisturized*

A study figure with a footnote. Odele confirms the full wording before anyone quotes it.

  • As seen in Allure, Byrdie, ELLE + more.

A press mention. Confirm it is current before a creator repeats it.

  • Award Winning

An award title. Ask which award before it appears in a video.

Part 10 of 15

Pay and bonus

  • Starter

    $300–600

    a month, by band

For creators with a smaller audience and strong wash-day footage, starting on the Leave-in Conditioner.

    Bonus at the cap: $300

  • Standard

    $500–1,000

    a month, by band

For creators with steady routine content who already post several hair videos every week.

    Bonus at the cap: $500

  • Premium

    $800–1,500

    a month, by band

For creators whose curl or styling videos already travel, trusted with the Hair Oil and the sets.

    Bonus at the cap: $700

  1. Under 100,000 views

    $0

The base pay covers the work.

  2. 100,000 views

    +$50 flat

    Whatever the band.

  3. 1,000,000 views

    Top-up to your cap

Bonus = band cap − base pay.

  • One bonus per creator per month, so the $50 flat never stacks.
  • The bonus is paid per video: one video past 100,000 views earns it.
  • Only organic views count. Boosted or paid views never qualify.
  • No bonus on a video that broke the claims sheet or the category rule.

Starter: $600 cap − $300 fee = $300 bonus; Standard: $1,000 cap − $500 fee = $500 bonus; Premium: $1,500 cap − $800 fee = $700 bonus.

The bonus pays for reach after the work is done, never instead of it. One bonus per creator per calendar month keeps it an incentive and keeps the program cost predictable.

Part 11 of 15

Simulator

On my inputs the program runs at $5.74 per 1,000 views against the $1 target. It gets there only if 4.2% of videos go viral or the median video reaches 21,711 views.

Above the $1 target at these inputs.

To hit $1, the roster needs about 10.1M views a month. That means about 4.2% of videos going viral, or a median near 22K views per video. That is why the day-90 gate exists: keep the accounts that clear it, replace the rest.

Proposed, not measured. Views = videos × median, breakouts at 10× the median, viral at 750K. Bonus: +$50 for a viral video, one per creator per month.

The math. Videos a month = 10 creators × 7 a week × 52 ÷ 12 = 303. Views per video = (1 − 4% − 0.5%) × 1,500 + 4% × 10 × 1,500 + 0.5% × 750,000 = 5,782.5; 303 videos × 5,782.5 = 1.8M views a month. Cost = 10 × $1,000 = $10,000 base + 1 bonus × $50 = $10,050. Cost per 1,000 views = $10,050 ÷ 1.8M × 1,000 = $5.74 against a $1.00 target. To hit the target, either 4.2% of videos go viral or the median video reaches 21,711 views, other inputs held.

Move the sliders and the label recalculates. The result is only as good as the guesses behind it, so the median views, the share of breakouts and the share of viral videos are marked as Assumptions until the first month of posts replaces them.

  1. Warm-up

    Six weeks to ten creators

Two creators go live each week until 10 are on. The claims sheet is signed off by Odele's lead before the first post. First batch: Cream Pomade and Curl Defining Gel.

  2. Month 1

    Test all five formats

One variable per test, hooks logged, losers killed early. The question: which format gets under $5.74 per 1,000 views.

  3. Month 2

Cut the bottom, move the top up

Keep the formats that win, move the best creators up a band. Add set videos, such as the Smoothing Set at $32.50, to see if a set beats a single bottle.

  4. Month 3

    Send the best to paid

Boost the strongest organic videos with the creator's consent and check which hooks hold. Bring the $4.99 Mini line into shelf-style videos.

  5. Day 90

    Review against the $1 target

Cost per 1,000 views against $1, which creators stay, which bands change, and whether the roster grows past 10.

  6. Ceiling

The ceiling is $15,000 with all 10 creators at the top cap, bonuses excluded. I stop there unless Odele approves more.

The roster grows by two creators a week, so hook performance can be read week over week instead of by anecdote.

Organic to paid

From organic to paid

  1. Post organic first

Every video goes out on the creator's own account. No paid money until a hook shows early signal.

  2. Pick the winners

Only the top hooks in the weekly report become candidates for paid.

  3. Get the go-ahead

The creator agrees before a video is boosted, and the claims sheet is checked once more.

  4. Test one change

Same video, one change: the opening line or the end card. Losers killed early.

From the video to the checkout

  • Send first-time viewers to a product page with the 10% off your first order offer.
  • Link set videos to Bundles + Sets, such as the Smoothing Set at $32.50.
  • Point Mini videos to the free Clarifying Shampoo Mini with $40+ orders.
  • Mention free shipping at $50 once, and the flat $8 below it only if asked.
  • Use Where To Buy for viewers who would rather shop in a store.

Part 15 of 15

Category rules

Hair-care rules for every Odele video

Hair care invites health talk. These six rules keep creators on texture, shine, hold and scent.

  • Describe, don't diagnose

Creators talk about how hair looks and feels after the routine. Nobody diagnoses a scalp or hair problem on camera, including for the Scalp Care Set.

  • No hair-loss or growth promises

The Rejuvenating Scalp Serum at $12.99 is shown as part of a routine. No video promises hair growth, less shedding or a fix for any scalp condition.

  • Study figures stay with their footnote

The 86% scalp figure came from 100 participants over 90 days on one regimen. Quote it only after Odele confirms the wording, with the footnote.

  • Heat protection keeps its limit

Thermal Protect Finishing Spray and Blow Dry Styler are described up to 450°F, never as protection at any temperature.

  • Disclose every partnership

Paid or gifted, the first line of the caption says so. Odele's lead checks the disclosure in the draft before posting.

  • Natural and clean, only as written

The signature scent is described by Odele as 100% natural. That wording stays on that scent and is never stretched to the whole line.

The brand’s legal team sets the final rules. This is the operating floor I’d start from, not legal advice.
